I need help, what should I do?

Why is maternal mental health so important?

Firstly, let me say this - ALL mental health is important.

So why maternal mental health? Well, because I'm a mum, and I know first hand that struggling with your mental health when you don't have kids, and struggling with it when you do have kids are two VERY different ball games. I know because I've done both.

Unfortunately 99% of our mental health services are made to suit the masses, which means the complexities involved in truly meeting the needs of mentally unwell mothers are rarely fully considered.

This in turn means mothers are not getting the specialist care and support they so badly need, and means they often aren't able to be the best mother they know they can be.

Are you a mental health professional?

I need to be very clear on this point - I am NOT a mental health professional in any capacity so I cannot provide specific advice or recommendations relating to any mental health disorder.

What I do have is over 10 years of lived experience of mental illness, and all that encompasses (including electroconvulsive therapy and time as an inpatient).

So, while I cannot speak to anything medical or treatment based, I can speak from my own experience as someone who has struggled with mental illness as a young person, a wife, a mother, a student, and a full time employee. And I have seen and experienced New Zealand's mental health system from the inside out as a patient, and as the parent of a patient.

Can I buy a support box if I'm not a mum?

Of course you can! While I design all of the boxes, and select all of the products to suit mums, if you like what I offer you can buy it no matter who you are.

How do your products actually help people?

Every product in store is chosen for its potential to inspire, support and empower mothers to nurture their own mental health and well-being. This comes in many forms, but ultimately I am guided by the following four principles:

NURTURE - products that nurture mind, body and soul.

GROW - products that help you on your personal growth journey as a person, a woman, and a mother.

WEAR - products you can wear everyday to help you feel vibrant and beautiful.

KEEP - products you can keep that bring beauty and peace to your environment, and remind you that you are loved and supported.

Where are your essential oil blends from?

All of the essential oil blends on offer are carefully hand crafted by myself. A lot of reading, blending, smelling and testing goes into developing the blends, and I take the time to really tune in to my intuition to ensure all the blends are not only aromatically beautiful, but that they actually meet the needs of the people who use them.

Do you use pure essential oils in your blends?

I only use superior quality theraputic grade oils that are certified 100% pure. I dilute the blends with a superior quality, 100% pure fractionated coconut oil.

Where do you source your products?

I am proud to say that all of the products I stock come from small and medium New Zealand business, and those that are not New Zealand made (e.g. books and journals) are still sourced from businesses that are New Zealand owned and operated.
